Untouchable

An ordinary evening in 2012 I sat down in front of my piano and let my frustration flow off my fingers. The emotions that were building in my chest came out in words, in melody. The questions that were spinning in my head had become inevitable cacophony. How do I let myself be happy? How do I trust what I want? How do I stay who I am? Pondering how such a forgiving society, at least on the outside, can turn judgmental in the blink of an eye.

Untouchable
(Lyrics)

Look at the world and say
how many people still believe in fairy tales
With a pure mind and heart
trusting people but called naive instead
Why watch sad movies
Why go on doing things that makes you feel bad
Let me walk around the earth like a child
with a blindfold over eyes for all the things that drags me down

Nothing can ever touch me, nothing can ever reach me
I’m on a cloud, I’m on a quest to be fine
Nothing can ever break me, nothing can ever take me
Nothing can ever make fake who I am
I’m untouchable, I’m untouchable

Just take a look around,
so many riches in the world but still we got to be profound
Why go around smiling
You can’t be happy if you don’t really have a clue why
Now reason is a virtue
can you explain just what you feel inside
Emotions are minor
You can only feel if you have a rational reason why

Nothing can ever touch me, nothing can ever reach me
I’m on a cloud, I’m on a quest to be fine
Nothing can ever break me, nothing can ever take me
Nothing can ever make me fake who I am
I’m untouchable, I’m untouchable

Just hold your breath, I don’t need to hear your words
For all I know I could be deaf, I’m just not listening

Nothing can ever touch me, nothing can ever reach me
I’m on a cloud, I’m on a quest to be fine
Nothing can ever break me, nothing can ever take me
Nothing can ever make me fake who I am

Nothing can ever touch me, nothing can ever reach me
I’m on a cloud, I’m on a quest to be fine
Nothing can ever break me, nothing can ever take me
Nothing can ever make me fake who I am

I’m untouchable
